Comprehend the importance of interpreting dementia assessment results. Become familiar with select assessment results (i.e. Allen Cognitive Levels) that can aid in staging dementia and give insight into resident/client needs at each stage. Learn common care strategies that can be used to compensate for needs at each stage. A must attend for OTs, COTAs, RNs, LPNs, SWs, and other admission/discharge professionals. 1.5 CEU available.

Theresa Klein OTR/L, brings a wealth of knowledge from her 20 years of work in the geriatrics field, specializing in dementia care. She is a clinician, consultant, educator and expert in the field. Theresa is the creator of the memory care program used at Emerald Crest by Augustana Care where OT assessments are used successfully in care delivery.
