How care for those with dementia is uniquely personalized and carefully designed

Memory loss is not a static event, so memory care shouldn't be either. We offer a unique approach to the changing needs of those in our care. Three levels of care are provided in uniquely-designed houses, so programs and services are specifically attuned to residents' comfort, abilities and interests.

During the early stages of dementia, we encourage residents to grow and thrive in our Vine House. Here, individuals can maintain the highest levels of independence. Staff support residents with a variety of options according to ability, including exercise, outings and spiritual care.

In the middle stages of memory loss, trained staff work with residents throughout their day, supplementing skills that may be more difficult. Encouraging the flow of regular activities with a structured schedule, in a familiar home-like setting: the Spring House. Individuals engage in familiar activities, at their ability, keeping body and mind engaged.

In later stages, caregivers closely assist residents in the Marigold House. Daily care and activities are planned and supported in a way that encourages and engages residents. This setting is uniquely-designed and lighted to promote comfort and sensory experiences.

At Emerald Crest, we've endeavored to thoughtfully plan environments and activities that uniquely benefit those we care for, meeting their specific abilities and needs and promoting the highest quality of life. We're recognized experts in memory care, with over 20 years of experience helping those with memory loss continue to flourish.

Quotes

My mother had Parkinson's disease and lived at Emerald Crest Shakopee during the last few years of her life. She was given so much love, respect and caring by the staff, especially as her disabilities increased and as she required much more care. Our family found Emerald Crest to be a warm and homey environment, and we loved the courtyard available to the residents, and so did my mother. We developed relationships with the staff, residents and even some of the residents' family members. It was truly a warm and caring community. I’d recommend Emerald Crest to others looking for a caring community for their loved ones.
