Emerald Crest Weekly Activity Packets For Those with Dementia
Providing engagement during COVID-19 social distancing rules
At Emerald Crest, we take pride in our daily programming for memory care residents. We provide structure and engagement 7 days a week including evenings, because we consider activity as a treatment for dementia to minimize depression, isolation, anxiety and help maintain abilities longer.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have had to think of alternative ways to engage residents while following the social distancing guidelines from MDH. Our staff have redirected their attention from group activities to individual, 1:1 activity with our residents. One way we have found success with 1:1 activity is through weekly activity packets. Each week a packet is assembled and delivered to our residents.
The 10 to 12-page packets includes:
- Menu for the week
- Letter from Pastor Arlen
- Letter from a resident, family and/or community member
- Five to seven relaxing memory activities, puzzles, brain games and more.
Weekly activity packets are available for download below.
