We are pleased to share an article from Good Age magazine that features Emerald Crest by Augustana Care’s approach to memory care. You can see there is something different about our setting as soon as you arrive. Each Emerald Crest house consists of twelve to fifteens suites arranged around a central living and kitchen area, with soothing colors and furniture arrangements.

The Emerald Crest model of care was developed in 1998 by Joe Guertin and Greg Getchell, who brought more than 25 years of experience in designing and operating eldercare communities to Emerald Crest. Guerin and Getchell found that people with memory challenges fare better in smaller, home-like residences that are easier to manage and navigate.

In 2010, Emerald Crest was purchased by Augustana Care. We have continued to serve those in need of memory care through the model of care created by the community’s founders.

Augustana Care Emerald Crest was recently featured in an article by Good Age magazine. Click here to read the article at mngoodage.com.

Quotes

We cannot say enough good things about Emerald Crest.  We feel so fortunate to have found such a wonderful home for our mom.. All staff members, from office to maintenance, to aides, to professionals were outstanding, caring and loving.  How wonderful such a great group of people can come together and from such a gracious place, not only for the resident, but also for the extended family.  The BEST!

— Janet, daughter of Emerald Crest resident
